Enrichment
Under NEAD directors Frances Ortiz, Ginna Ortiz, and Ted Thomas, Enrichment prepares dancers to participate in the Advanced Company. Their extensive schedule composed of classical ballet, partnering, pointe, and rehearsals, provide the rigor needed to make the transition into NEAD’s Advanced Company smoother. NEAD Enrichment dancers train Monday through Friday each week, as well as weekends for performance rehearsals. The Enrichment is made up of 25 students who are selected from the 6a level each Fall.

TRAINING:
Under NEAD directors Frances Ortiz, Ginna Ortiz, and Ted Thomas, NEAD Studio Company members participate in an extensive schedule of classes and rehearsals. Classes include classical ballet technique, partnering, pointe, character, variations, contemporary, choreography composition, and strength & stretch training. Workshops in nutrition, Stage Make-up, health and wellness, stress management, injury prevention, and other topics are also included in the curriculum. NEAD Studio Company dancers train Monday- Thursday and into the weekend for rehearsals. NEAD Studio Company is made up of 25 advanced students and selected by audition each fall.
REPERTORY:
NEAD Studio Company dancers work closely with NEAD directors, artistic staff and guest faculty to learn repertoire and other masterworks of the classical and neoclassical canons. NEAD Studio Company also supports the development of choreographic talent, engaging a wide variety of choreographers to create original pieces on the dancers every other year to create performances that feature a dynamic mixed program of classical and neoclassical work.
